Ingredients

    cups milk, scalded

  • 4

    t. salt

  • 2

    packages active dry yeast

  • 1

    t. sugar

  • 1

    cup water lukewarm

  • 3/4

    cup sugar

  • 1/2

    cup soft butter.

  • 3

    eggs

  • 8 - 10

    cups sifted flour

Directions

Scald milk and add salt and sugar and butter. Cool to lukewarm. Dissolve yeast in warm water with 1 t. sugar. Let stand for 10 minutes. Add milk mixture and eggs to yeast and beat well. Add flour to make soft dough. Let stand 10 minutes. Knead on lightly floured surface until smooth and elastic. Place in greased bowl. grease top and cover. Let rise until double in size. Punch down and turn out on board. Let rest about 10 minutes. Divide dough into portions shaping into rolls or rings. Put in lightly greased pan. Let rise until doubled in bulk. Bake rolls at 350 degree oven for 20 minutes or until done. Ice with powder sugar.
