Ingredients
- Cake:
- 1 Milk Chocolate Cake Mix
- 1 can Cherry Pie filling
- 4 eggs
- 1/2 cup oil
- 1 teaspoon Almond extract
- Icing:
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup evaporated milk
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 cup milk chocolate chips
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup toasted, chopped pecans, optional
Preparation
Step 1
Cake:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine cake ingredients. Blend with electric mixer on low speed for 1 minute. Continue beating on medium speed for 2 minutes. Pour into greased and floured 9 x 13" cake pan. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
Icing:
In saucepan, combine sugar, milk, and butter. Cook over medium and bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Boil for 1 minute. Remove from heat. Add chocolate chips and vanilla. Stirring until chips have melted. Spread mixture over warm cake. Sprinkle with pecans. Cool. Refrigerate.
