Bean Soup (Bonnie's)
- 2 to 3 ham hocks or save the bone from a whole ham
- 1 onion chopped
- 1 can of kidney beans
- 1 can of navy beans
- 1 can of black beans (rinsed)
- 1 can of pinto beans
- 1 can of great northern beans
- 1 can of small butter beans
- Salt and pepper
Place all ingredients in a slow cooker. I usually add a can or two of water to this. Cook in crock pot all day. Then take the ham hock or ham bone out and remove what meat you can add back into to crock pot stir and eat.
Some times I might use 2 cans of each bean or just double on the beans you like.
Left overs freeze well.
Great with corn bread on the side.
