Ingredients

  • 5

    cups bread flour

  • 4 1/2

    tsp instant yeast

  • 1

    tbs sugar

  • 2

    tsp salt

  • 1

    tsp baking soda

  • 3

    cups whole milk, heated to 120 degrees

  • Corn meal for coating pans

Directions

Whisk dry ingredients together. Then add milk to center of dry ingredients and mix with a wooden spoon until fully combined. (Will be a wet batter). Take sheet of saran wrap and spray with vegetable oil so it won't stick to dough when covered. Cover bowl and let dough rise for 30 minutes. Stir dough to knock it down. Prepare 2 loaf pans by spraying with vegetable oil and coating with corn meal. Divide in half and pour evenly into each loaf pan. Spray 2 pieces of saran wrap with vegetable oil again and cover both loaf pans with wrap. Let dough rise for 30 minutes more until they reach top of pans. Bake on middle rack of oven on 375 for about 30 minutes but rotate them half way through.
