DESSERTS - Toffee Bars

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 cup flour
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 lb chocolate (dipping)
  • 1/2 cup nuts

Preparation

Step 1

Cream butter and sugar, add egg, vanilla and salt. Add flour, beat lightly. Flatten into greased jelly-roll pan. Bake 15-20 minutes while warm, spread melted chocolate. Add ground nuts to top. Bake at 350 degrees. Bake about 15 minutes- if they bake too long they get brittle and hard to cut.
