Cedar Plank Salmon

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbs vegetable oil
  • 1 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 3 Tbsp choice of chardonnay, bourbon, whiskey
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 Tbsp brown sugar
  • ground pepper
  • 2 pound salmon fillet
  • 1/2 tsp lemon juice

Preparation

Step 1

Combine all liquid and dry ingredients in a bowl; reserve lemon juice. Marinade salmon for at least 20 minutes
Soak plank for 20 minutes to 4 hours. Preheat plank. Place salmon on plank and close lid to hot-smoke for 8-10 minutes.

Transfer marinade to a small sauce pan and gently simmer until reduced by half. Remove from heat and add lemon juice. Brush or drizzle over salmon before serving.
