Ingredients
- 1 medium green pepper
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 tablespoon instant minced onion
- 1 can (8oz) tomato sauce
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 4 pita (Syrian or Middle Eastern) bread,warmed and
- cut in halves
Preparation
Step 1
Cut half the green pepper in rings;set aside,for garnish.Mince remaining pepper and saute with beef and onion,breaking meat up with spoon until meat is lightly browner and pepper is tender.Drain excesss fat.Add tomato sauce,salt,cumin and pepper;cook and stir until mixture is hjeated throughly and flavored blended about 6 minutes.With fingers open pockets of pita bread and spoon in meat mixture.Garnish with remaining pepper rings.
