Refrigerator Butter Cookie

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2/3 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3/4 cup chopped pecans

Preparation

Step 1

Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt.

Cream butter. Add sugar and brown sugar gradually. Cream well.

Add egg and vanilla. Beat well.

Blend in dry ingredients gradually; mix well. Add chopped pecans. Mix.

Divide dough in half. Shape into rolls. Wrap in waxed paper. Chill overnight. Slice 1/8" thick. Bake on buttered baking sheets at 425 degrees for 5 to 7 minutes.
