Ingredients
- Frosting:
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1/2 c. vegetable oil
- 4 Tbs. cocoa
- 1 c. water
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. buttermilk
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 c. butter
- 4 Tbs. cocoa
- 1/3 c. buttermilk
- 3 &3/4-4 c. powdered sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
Step 1
Bring 1st 4 ingredients to boil in saucepan. Sift together flour & sugar. Pour chocolate sauce over dry ingredients & mix well. Add rest of ingredients & mix until combined. Pour into greased jelly roll pan. Bake @ 400 degrees for 30 min.
For frosting: Bring 1st 3 ingredients to a boil in saucepan. Remove from heat & add rest of ingredients. Frost cake while it is still warm.
This cake is better after being frozen. Can be eaten thawed or frozen.
