Ingredients
- Oat topping:
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. ginger
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- Pinch salt
- 4 lbs. tart apples (Granny Smith, Jonathan), peeled & cut into 8 wedges each
- 2 tsp. lemon juice
- 2/3 c. all-purpose flour
- 2/3 c. packed brown sugar
- 1/2 c. butter, cut-up
- 2/3 c. rolled oats, uncooked
- 2/3 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Combine dry ingredients in bowl. Add apples & lemon juice, toss to coat. Arrange in even layer in shallow 3 qt. baking dish. Sprinkle with oat topping.(Combine flour & brown sugar in bowl. With pastry blender, cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs). Bake 40 min. or until bubbly. Serve warm.
