Ingredients

  • 1

    lb. ground beef

  • 18 oz. can tomato juice

  • 1/2

    cup bread or cracker crumbs

  • 1

    egg, slightly beaten

  • 1/4

    cup finely chopped onion or some onion powder

  • 1

    Teaspoon salt and pepper

  • 3

    shakes Worcestershire sauce

  • 3

    Teaspoons A-1 sauce

  • Cheddar cheese for middle if desired

  • 3

    slices bacon

Directions

Mix all ingredients together using only 1/3 cup of tomato juice-keeping remainder for pan. Do not add cheese at this time. Shape into a loaf. If adding cheese- using fingers indent the middle of loaf. Add desired cheese and cover back up with meat mixture. Place in loaf pan on top of 3 slices of bacon. Spread ketchup over top and remainder tomato juice around sides. Cover and place in pre-heated 400 oven. After 15 minutes turn oven heat to 325 and cook 2 hours
