Toll House Pie

Ingredients

  • 2 eggs, room temperature
  • 2/3 c. flour
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 3/4 c. (1 1/2 sticks) butter, softened
  • 1 c. walnuts (1/4-inch pieces)
  • 6 oz. Nestle chocolate chips
  • baked 9-inch pie shell

Preparation

Step 1

Beat eggs on high speed of mixer for 3 minutes. Add flour, sugar, and brown sugar; beat on high speed another 3 minutes. Add softened butter and resume beating on high for 3 more minutes. Stir in walnuts and 4 ounces of chocolate chips. Spread batter evenly in pie shell. Sprinkle 2 ounces chocolate chips evenly over surface of batter. Bake on baking sheet in 350 degrees oven for 55-60 minutes. Serve warm with vanilla, ice cream and chocolate or hot fudge sauce. Pie may be reheated in microwave oven for 10-15 seconds.
