c. butter or margarine (softened)
c. firmly packed light brown sugar
c. granulated sugar
c. all purpose flour
tsp. baking soda
c. Quaker Oats (quick or old fashioned--uncooked)
c. chocolate chip morsels (dark, semi-sweet or milk chocolate)
Heat oven to 375 degrees. Beat together butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla. Combine flour, baking soda, soft and spices; add to butter mixture, mixing well. Stir in oats. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto cookie sheet. Bake 8-9 minutes for chewy cookies. Bake 10-11 minutes for crisp cookie. Make sure to cool at least 1 minute on cookie sheet before removing from pan. Serve with a tall glass of cold milk. Store in tightly covered container.
