Chocolate Cherry Cake

Ingredients

  • Icing:
  • 1 pkg Devils Food cake Mix
  • 1 can cherry fruit pie filling
  • 1 tsp almond extract.
  • 2 eggs.
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 1/2 cup crisco (butter favoured shortening)
  • 2/3 cup boiled milk
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp almond extract
  • 2-3 squares unsweetened melted chocolate (add to first 3 ingredients)

Preparation

Step 1

Cake
In large bowl combine ingredients and mix by hand with wooden spoon until well mixed. Pour into 9X13" pan. Bake 25-30 minutes at 350F until toothpick comes out clean. Remove and let cool on cooling rack.

Icing:
Put margarine and crisco in bowl, beat, add sugar and beat again.
Add hot milk gradually. Then blen with mixer until fluffy.
