Milky Way Cake

Ingredients

  • CAKE:
  • 4 10-cent Milky Way candy bars
  • 1 stick butter margarine
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. vegetable oil or 1 stick margarine
  • 4 whole eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 2 1/2 c. plain flour
  • 1 tsp. salt and 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 1 c. pecan or walnuts (chopped fine)
  • ICING:
  • 1 1/2 milky way candy bars (or 3 small ones)
  • 1 stick butter
  • 2 tbsp. sweet milk
  • 1/2 tsp. powdered sugar

Preparation

Step 1

Melt candy bars and margarine in double boiler and set aside to cool. Combine sugar, vegetable oil, eggs and buttermilk and stir well. Sift together flour soda and salt and add to the milk n’ mixture add nuts and vanilla, then add all this to the cooled candy mixture. Bake in four layer cake pans or 1 large oblong pan for about 25 minutes or until done.

For icing, melt ingredients together in a double boiler and let cool until you can hold your hands on bottom of pans. Then add 2 tbsp. sweet milk, 1/2 tsp. powdered sugar mix and pour on top of cake.
