- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1-1/4 to 1-1/2 cups heavy cream, plus additional for brushing

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl. Make a well in the center, pour in 1-1/4 cups cream, and stir the dry ingredients into the cream with a fork. Work quickly, stirring as little as possible. If necessary, add the additional 1/4 cup of cream.
Pinch the dough into 12-16 pieces and form each into a biscuit-shaped circle. Place on an ungreased baking sheet, brush with extra cream, sprinkle with sugar, and bake 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
Transfer to a wire rack to cool, but serve while still warm.
