Ingredients

  • Pork chops or polish sausage

  • Veg oil

  • 1-14 oz can sauerkraut, do mot rinse or drain

  • 1

    cup chopped onion

  • 1

    Granny Smith apple, peel, cored and chopped

  • 1 1/2

    tsp fennel

  • 1 1/2

    tsp caraway

  • 1

    bay leaf

  • 2/3

    cup water

Directions

1. If using pork chop, season and brown both sides in a bit of oil 2. Toss together,kraut, apple, onion, fennel, caraway 3. Place water in pan, add bay leaf. Top with 1/2 kraut mixture, place meat on top and put rest of kraut mixture on top of meat. Cover pan and simmer over very low heat for about an hour.
