Ingredients

  • 1 pkg (about 15) lasagna noodles
  • 2 cups cottage cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 tsp. onion salt
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups mashed potatoes
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. onion salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • Sour cream

Step 1

Cook noodles as described on the package; then drain. Line the bottom of a 9x13 pan with the noodles. In a medium bowl, mix the cottage cheese, egg, and onion salt together. Spread over the noodles. Cover with a layer of noodles. In the same bowl, mix the next five ingredients (shredded cheese, mashed potatoes, salt, onion salt and pepper) Spread over the noodles. Cover with another layer of noodles. Melt the butter in a pan. Add the onions and sauté until the onions are transparent and soft. Pour this mixture over the noodles, then cover the pan with foil. Bake at 350* for 30 minutes. Let stand for 10 minutes before cutting. Serve warm with sour cream.
