  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 2/3 cups sifted flour
  • 2 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 1/2 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Step 1

Preheat oven to 400°F.

Beat butter and shortening until light. Add 1 1/2 cup sugar and beat until fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla; set aside. Sift together flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt. Add to creamed mixture.

Combine 3 1/2 tablespoons sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Shape dough into small balls and roll in the cinnamon sugar mixture. Place on an ungreased baking sheet and bake for 8 to 10 minutes.
