Rosario Resort Bread Pudding W/Carmaelized Apples

    Granny Smith or tart apples

    C butter, melted

  • 1

    C sugar

  • 1

    T cinnamon

  • 2

    qts. 1" cubes day old sweet rolls, croissants, Danish, French bread or any combination


Peel and core apples, cut into 8 wedges each. In hot skillet bring butter, sugar and cinnamon to simmer. Add wedges and cook about 1o". Syrup should be shiny brown. Remove from heat, set aside. Spread cubed breads in buttered deep 9 X 13" pan and set aside. Prepare custard mix and pour over bread. Top w/ apples mix and sprinkle w/walnuts. Cover pan w/foil and stand 15". Bake 350 for 30". Remove foil and bake another 15". Serve warm. Custard Mix- 8 eggs 2 C brown sugar (3 if using only French bread) 2 C half & half 2 C milk 1 t vanilla 1 t cinnamon In large bowl, mix all together well.
