Ingredients
- 8 slices good quality bread
- 2 T. mayonnaise
- 6 oz. *Drier's* ham thinly sliced
- 4 slices Longhorn or N.Y. cheese
- 2 slices red onion;separated into rings
- 2 T. horseradish sauce, or any of the Brownwood mustards
- 1/4 C. butter,softened
Preparation
Step 1
Spread four slices of bread with mayonnaise. Layer each with the ham, cheese and onion. Spread horseradish sauce,or Brownwood's mustard, on remaining bread; place bread with horseradish or mustard side down over the onion. Spread butter on the outside of each sandwich.
In a large skillet over medium heat,toast sandwiches for 4-5 min. on each side or until bread is lightly browned and cheese is melted.
