APPLE BARS

By

This recipe calls for 2 cans of apple pie filling but I usually change it up and use one apple and one of another flavor such as cherry or blueberry. So my dessert is half one flavor and half another. Use any two of your favorites if you like.

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 425 degrees
In a large mixing bowl beat flour, brown sugar and margarine until combined. Press mixture in the bottom of a 9x13 baking dish.
Spread the pie filling on top of the crust.
Bake for 10 minutes then remove from oven.
While the crust and filling are baking, mix sugar and cinnamon in a bowl or gallon zip lock bag.
Open pie crusts and cut each one in half and then cut into 1/4 inch pieces. Separate strips and add to the cinnamon/sugar mixture and cover well.
After the crust and pie filling have baked for 10 minutes, take the cinnamon/sugar coated pie crust strips out and lay them every which way to cover the pie filling and bake for an additional 18 to 20 mins. Cool
