- Crumb Mixture:
- 1 1/2 C. Flour 1 C. Finely Chopped Pecans
- 1 1/2 C. Rolled Oats(old-fashioned) 1 C. Melted Butter
- 1 C. Brown Sugar 1/2 t.Salt
- 1/2 t.Baking Powder
- 40 Dates, Chopped
- 1 C. Sugar
- 1 C. Water
- 1/2 t. Vanilla
Crumb Mixture: Toss together with fork until crumbly. Mix well. Pat 1/2 mixture in bottom of well-greased 7 x 11 pan.
Filling: Cook first three ingredients until thick and smooth. Add vanilla. Cool. Spread filling on top of crumb mixture. Add remaining crumb mixture over date filling - pressing down lightly.
Bake 325 degrees for 40 - 45 min. Cut in small squares. Very rich.
