Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter or shortening
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg yolk, unbeaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoon cinnamon

Preparation

Step 1

Cream butter and sugar, add egg yolk and vanilla. Sift together 2 cups flour, add
salt and cinnamon. Add to first mixture, blend well. Pat out 1/4" thick in well
greased cookie sheet. Spread with white of egg and sprinkle with chopped nuts.
Bake 30 minutes at 275 degrees. Cut into squares.
