Ingredients

  • 4 large apples, peeled and sliced (6 cups)
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2-3/4 cups sugar, divided use
  • 3 cups unsifted flour
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup oil
  • 4 eggs, unbeaten
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • Additional sugar, for sprinkling pan
  • Preheat over to 350 degrees. Grease a ring mold pan and sprinkle with a little sugar.

Preparation

Step 1

Combine apples with cinnamon and 1/4 cup of the sugar. Set aside

Mix remaining 2-1/2 cups of sugar with all remaining ingredients in large bowl. Pour layer of batter into prepared mold, then layer of apples, and repeat, finishing with layer of apples.

Bake 1-3/4 hours. Remove from oven; allow to cool before removing from pan.
