Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup cocoa
- 1/4 cup plain flour
- 1/4 cup boiling water
- 1 1/2 cups evaporated milk(12 oz. can)
- 4 egg yolks slightly beaten
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp. butter
Preparation
Step 1
Whisk the sugar, cocoa and flour together. Add 1/4 cup boiling water and mix.
Add milk and egg yolks and mix well.
Cook in double boiler or in very heavy pot till very thick. Add 1 tbsp. butter and vanilla extract. Pour into pie crust that has been cooked to brown bottom. Add meringue, sealing very well. (meringue recipes calls to cook for 325 for 23 minutes.)
