Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/2 cup apple juice
  • 4 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • salt and pepper
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 6 boneless pork chops

Preparation

Step 1

1 Preheat an outdoor grill to high heat. 2 In a small saucepan add brown sugar, apple juice, oil, soy sauce, ginger, salt, and pepper, stir until well combined. Bring mixture to a boil. 3 Stir together water and cornstarch in a small bowl and whisk into brown sugar mixture. Stir until thick and bubbly. 4 Brush grates lightly with oil before placing chops on grill. Cook for approximately 10-12 minutes over hot coals, turning once. 5 Baste pork chops with sauce just before removing from grill and serve remaining sauce on the side.

Note:
Great. 1/2 recipe for 4 small or 2 large chops. Would be good for company dinner. Ok to add cornstarch and water to pot before boiling. If no applesauce, sub beer but cut back oil to 2 tbsp.
