Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups of uncooked elbow macaroni
  • 3 TBLS. butter or margarine
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 TBLS. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 cups of cubed velveta cheese

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Cook macaroni according to pkg. directions. Meanwhile, in med. sauce pan melt butter or margarine. Add onion and cook till tender but not brown. Stir in flour, salt and pepper. Add milk all at once, whisk and cook till thickened. Drain macaroni and add to cheese mixture. Mix well and pour into 3 quart baking dish sprayed with non stick pan spray. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until bubbly and just slightly starting to brown.
