  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • I cup butter, (at room temperature)
  • 1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips



Step 1

Mix flour and baking powder in bowl. In large bowl beat butter on high speed until creamy. Add sugar and beat 3 to 5 minutes until pale and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each.

Add flour mixture, mix only until blended. Add buttermilk and mix only until blended. Fold in chocolate chips

Scoop 1/3 cupfuls of dough onto cookie sheet about 2 inches apart. Loosely cover dough with plastic wrap and refrigerate about 45 minutes. Remove plastic.

Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.

Turn heat to 325 degrees; bake 15 minutes longer until pale golden.

Cool on wire rack.
