Buttermilk Banana Bread
By dlpedersen
Super moist and delicious. You can omit the nuts and add 1 cup dark choc chips (my favorite)or 1 cup of peanut butter chips, dried blueberries etc....

Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 stick real butter, softened
- 2 lg brown eggs
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 tea spoons baking soda
- 1 tea spoons baking powder
- 1 tea spoons salt
- 2 cups all-purpose unbleached flour
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 3 mashed ripe bananas
- 1 cup Chopped walnuts (optional)
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 325*
Cream together sugar and butter.
Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition - I use a hand mixer.
whisk baking soda into buttermilk and add to mixture.
In a separate bowl mix together baking powder, salt and flour. Stir into creamed mixture. I use a wooden spoon for this part. You don't want to over mix.
Fold in walnuts or whatever you choose
Pour into 2 greased medium size loaf pans (I use Crisco or butter is good too). Not baking spray!
Bake at 325 for 45 min. Cool for 20 minutes before removing from pans
