Ingredients
- 1/2 t. salt
- 1/2 t. baking soda
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup shortening, softened
- 1 t. vinegar
- 1/2 cup sour milk
- 1 t. vanilla
- 1 3/4 cup flour
- 1 cup chocolate chips

Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 and grease a 10x15 baking sheet.
Mix the salt, baking soda, brown sugar, egg, shortening, vinegar, sour milk and vanilla in a large bowl.
Stir in flour, followed by chocolate chips. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan. Bake until the edges are golden brown and the chips are melted, 20 minutes.
Let cool, then cut into bars. Store the bars in a sealed container. These will stay fresh for 3-4 days.
