Ingredients

  • 3 cups sifted flour
  • 1 1/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 cups firmly packed brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) butter
  • 2 T. water
  • 1 (12oz) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate morsels
  • 2 eggs

Step 1

Cover cookie sheets with aluminum foil and preheat oven to 350.

Sift flour baking soda and salt together.

Combine sugar, butter, and water in saucepan. Cook, stirring constantly,until butter is melted. Stir in chocolate pieces until they are partially melted. Continue to stir and pour into another bowl and cool slightly for about 5 min.

Beat the eggs into the chocolate mixture one at a time with electric mixer on high speed. Turn mixer to low. Gradually add the flour mixture until dough is smooth and blended.l Let dough stand for 10 min.

Scoop a heaping teaspoonful of dough for each cookie; rol into a ball and place on foil covered cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for 12 min or until tops are dry but not firm. Do not overbake. Cool on wire racks.
