Chai Ice Cream
A cool dessert with warm flavors, my favorite combo.
- 1 cup milk
- 3 chai tea bags
- 3 cups heavy cream
- 1 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup light brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Microwave 1 cup of the cream for 1.5 minutes. Stir in the brown sugar. Put the 3 tea bags in and let it sit for 5 minutes.
In the meantime, mix together the white sugar, cream and the milk. When the 5 minutes are over, stir in the cream with the tea/brown sugar. Keep the tea bags in for one more minute. Next, squeeze the excess cream/liquid out of the tea bags and into the bowl (you want all the concentrated liquid). Mix well. Chill in freezer for 15 minutes.
After the 15 minutes, make in ice cream maker (allow it to church for 30 minutes). It will be soft but chill for a firmer ice cream.
