beef stroganoff

  • 3 T flour
  • 1 1/2 t salt
  • 1/4 t pepper
  • 1 # beef tenderloin
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 14 cup of butter
  • 1/2 cup minced onions
  • 1/4 cup of water
  • 1 can undiluted condensed chicken soup or 1 can beef broth
  • 1 # sliced mushrooms
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • snipped parsley, chives or dill


Cooking time 20mins


Step 1

Combine flour, salt and pepper. Beef should be about 1/4 in. thick. trim fat from meat. Rub both sides of meat with garlic. Cut meat into strips 1 1/12 x 1 in; roll in flour mixture. put butter in dutch oven. add soup and mushrooms' cook, uncoveredover low heat, stirring occasionally until mixture is thick and meat is fork tender, about 20 min.

Just before serving, stir in sour cream, heat but do no boil. Sprinkle with parsley, serve with noodles
