Ingredients
- Dressing:
- 1 c. cider vinegar
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/4 c. olive oil
- 1 tsp. ground mustard
- 1 1/2 tsp poppy seeds
- Salad
- 2 T butter
- 3/4 c. sliced almonds
- 3 T sugar
- 8 c. torn romaine
- 8 oz. Brie or Camembert, cubed
- 1 pkg (6 oz) dried cherries

Step 1
In a jar with a tight-fitting lid, combine the dressing ingredients; shake until sugar is dissolved.
For salad, in a heavy skillet, melt butter over med. heat. Add almonds, cook and stir until toasted, about 4 minutes. Sprinkle sugar, cook and stir until sugar is melted. About 3 minutes. spread on foil to cool, break apart.
In a large salad bowl, combine the romaine, cheese and cherries. Shake dressing, drizzle over salad. Sprinkle with sugared almonds and toss to coat.
Serves about 10 people.
