Ingredients
- Burgers:
- 1 C dried bread crumbs
- 1/2 C finely chopped onion
- 1/2 C Italian salad dressing
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
- 2 lbs ground beef
- 6 kaiser rolls, split
- Leaf lettuce, Colby cheese slices, tomato slices, ketchup,mustard, mayo and fried onion rings, optional.
- Fried onion rings:
- 1/2 C all purpose flour
- 1/2 C water
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- 1 tsp seasoned salt
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 large onion, very thinly sliced
- Oil for deep fat frying

Step 1
In a large bowl, combine the bread crumbs, onion, salad dressing and eggs. Crumble beef over mixture and mix well. Shape into 6 patties.
Grill burgers, covered over medium heat for 5-7 minutes on each side or until a meat thermometer reads 160* and juices run clear.
For onion rings, whisk the first five ingredients in a shallow bowl.separate onion slices into rings. Dip rings into batter. In a deep fryer, heat 1 inch of oil to 375*. fry onion rings in batches for 1-1.5 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
Serve burgers on rolls with toppings.
