baba au rum cake

Ingredients

  • 1 cup nuts med to fine chop
  • 1 yellow cake mix
  • 1 small pkg instant vanill pudding mix
  • 4 lrg eggs, room temp.
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 1/2 cup rum
  • glaze
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup rum

Preparation

Step 1

350*. butter bundt pan and sprinkle nuts in pan...in bowl, mix on low speed, combine cake mix, pudding,eggs,water,oil and 1/2 cup rum.blend til smooth. pour batter into buttered. pan.
glaze..
in saucepan melt butter over med heat. stir in sugar and water and cook for about 5 min. remover from heat and stir in rum.
drizzle and brush about 1/3 of glaze over cake peirced with toothpick. wait til glaze has soaked into cake..takes a few min. once glaze absorbed. invert and unmold
on plate..drizzle and brush remaining glaze over top and sides of cake.
