Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. yeast
  • 1 cup lukewarm water
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 3 cups warm water
  • 4 cups flour
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup oil or shortening
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 6-8 flour

Preparation

Step 1

Combine yeast and 1 cup water; stir until dissolved. Stir in salt, 1 tablespoon sugar, water and 4 cups flour. Beat until bubbly. Cover and set aside for several hours. Add eggs,shortening, 1 cup sugar, and remaining flour. Knead, and let rise until double. Punch down and refrigerate until ready to use. May be kept in refrigerator for several days by punching down once a day. Remove and let stand at room temperature for 1 hour. Shape into rolls and let rise. Bake at 350* for 15 to 20 minutes or until center roll is 200*.
