Chocolate Cream Cheese Swirl Brownies

Ingredients

  • Cream Cheese Topping:
  • 4 ounces German sweet chocolate
  • 1/4 cup margarine
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • .
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon flour

Preparation

Step 1

Cream Cheese Swirl Brownies

Melt chocolate and margarine over very low heat. Stir sugar into chocolate mixture; add eggs and vanilla stir until completely mixed. Mix in flour until well blended. Stir in nuts. Spread in greased and floured 8-inch square pan.

Prepare topping. Mix cream cheese, sugar, egg and flour until
smooth. Spoon over brownie batter mixture in pan, swirl with knife to make a "marble" pattern.

Bake at 350° for about 30 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in
center comes out almost clean. Cool in pan on a rack; cut cream cheese brownies into
squares.
