Cincinnati Chili

Ingredients

  • 3 T oil, divided use
  • 3 lbs ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, finely diced
  • 1 T galic, minced
  • 1/2 t crushed red pepper
  • 1/2 t cinnamon
  • 1/4 t ground cumin
  • 1 T chili powder
  • 2 t black pepper
  • 2 t salt
  • 1 C tomato sauce
  • 5 C tomato juice
  • 1 T worchestershire sauce
  • 1/2 t Tabasco sauce

Preparation

Step 1

Heat 2 T of oil in large skillet. Brown meat in oil, drain off fat and set aside.

In heavy dutch oven, heat remaining oil and saute onions until soft. Add garlic and spices, saute an additional 2 minutes. Add cooked meat to pan and add remaining ingredients. Simmer 1 hour.

Serve over cooked spaghetti or elbow macaroni.
