Pulled Pork

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/8 tsp cayenne
  • 4 lb bone-in pork shoulder, cut into 3 pieces and trimmed of all visible fat
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 C brown sugar
  • 1/2 C ketchup
  • 1/3 C cider vinegar
  • 1/4 C tomato paste
  • 1/4 C water
  • 2 tbsp mustard
  • 2 tbsp worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp hot-pepper sauce
  • Mix salt, paprika, chili powder, cumin, and cayenne. Rub all over pork. Combine pork and remaining ingredients in large slow cooker. Cover and cook on low 6 to 8 hours.
  • Remove pork from slow cooker and discard bone. Cool 10 minutes. Using forks, shred pork. Combine with sauce from cooker.
