Everyone loves cabbage rolls but the K-OS we have to go through making them... I found this quick and easy recipe that immitates the flavour of the cabbage rolls with half the preparation time.
You will be jealous you never thought of it yourself :)

Ingredients

  • 1 lbs cabbage, cubed into (1/2 inch pieces)
  • 2 lbs ground meat (beef or pork)
  • 1 1/4 cups of cooked white rice
  • 1 large onion, coarsely minced
  • 1 1/2 cups sour cream
  • 1 1/2 cups ketchup
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 350 F.

1. In a large bowl cover cubed cabbage with boiling water and let stand for about 5-7 minutes.
2. Remove the cabbage from the water, squeezing the excess water.
3. Mix together cabbage, meat, rice, onion, salt and pepper.
4. Form oval shaped cutlets (about ¾ cup).
5. Bread the cutlets in bread crumbs and fry on a medium heat in some oil.
6. Cook till golden brown on the outside about 3 min each side. DO NOT COOK TILL MEAT IS DONE!
7. Lay cutlets in a 9x13 baking dish.
8. In a small bowl combine sour cream and ketchup. Mix well and pour over the cutlets.
9. Bake in a 350 degrees oven for 40-45 minutes.
10. Serve with sour cream on the side.
