Favorite Ground Beef and Beans (Slow cooker)

Ingredients

  • 2 lb. lean (at least 80 percentage) ground beef
  • 1 large onion, chopped (about 3/4 c.
  • 6 slices *Drier's* bacon
  • 1 can (28 oz.) baked beans, undrained
  • 1 can (15.5 oz.) butter beans, drained, rinsed
  • 1 can (15 oz.) Progresso kidney bean: drained, rinsed
  • 1 bottle (12 oz.) chili sauce
  • 2 cans (4.5 oz. each) old El Paso chopped green chilies
  • 2 tbsp. pkg. brown sugar
  • 3 tsp. chili powder
  • shredded longhorn cheddar cheese, if desired

Preparation

Step 1

In 10-inch nonstick skillet, cook ground beef and onion over medium-high heat, stirring frequently, until beef is thoroughly cooked; drain. In 3 1/2 to 4-quart slow cooker, mix cooked ground beef mixture and remaining ingredients except cheese. Cover; cook on low heat setting 4 hours. Top individual servings with cheddar cheese.
