Ingredients
- 1 pie shell (9 inch) uncooked
- 1/2 lb. Swiss cheese, finely diced
- 1/2 lb. drier’s ham, finely cubed
- 5 whole eggs
- 1 c. half and half
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- several dashes nutmeg
Preparation
Step 1
Fill shell a little more than half full with alternating layers of cheese and ham. Refrigerate. Beat together the eggs, cream, and salt. Refrigerate separately. When ready, stir egg mixture with a fork and pour over pie. Sprinkle with nutmeg. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes. Turn oven to 325 degrees for 30 minutes. Cool 10 minutes and serve promptly.
