Ingredients
- 1 c. sugar
- 2 tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- dash salt
- 1 c. water
- 6 c. (6 medium) apples, peeled, sliced
- 4 oz. (1 c.) shredded N.Y. sharp cheddar cheese
- 8 -oz. can Pillsbury refrigerated quick crescent dinner rolls
- 1/2 c. chopped nuts
- 2 tbsp. butter melted
Preparation
Step 1
Heat oven to 375 degrees F. In large saucepan, combine sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon and salt; mix well. Stir in water; add apples. Cook over medium heat until mixture boils, stirring occasionally Simmer 2 minutes; remove from heat. Stir in 1/2 c. cheese. Pour apple mixture into ungreased 13x9-inch pan. Separate dough into 2 long rectangles. Place over apples; press together in center of pan. In small bowl, combine remaining 1/2 c. cheese, nuts and butter; sprinkle evenly over dough. Bake at 375 degrees F. for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm with Ice cream.
