Bacon Apple Sandwich

This was inspired by England's popular bacon butty (a contraction of "bread" and "butter").
Ingredients
- 2 apples, peele, cored, chopped
- 3 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tsp fresh thyme
- 12 slices thick-cut bacon, cooked
- Steak Sauce
- 4 rolls, preferably with a light crumb and crunchy crust

Step 1
Combine apples and maple syrup in a medium saucepan over medium-low heat. Stir frequently. Cook until apples are soft enough to mash, either with a potato masher or the back of a spatula. This can take anywhere form 10-20 minutes. Keep an eye on the apples so that they don't burn. Stir thyme into mashed apples. Remove from heat.
Spread some of the apple mixture on the bottom half of the rolls; top with 3 slices bacon per sandwich. Spread steak sauce on top half of rolls, cover sandwich.
