Ingredients
- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup warm water
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, lightly spooned into cup
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/3 cups milk
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted and coooled
Preparation
Step 1
Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup water. Measure flour and salt into mixing bowl. Add yeast and milk alternately with butter and stir until batter is smooth and free of lumps.
Cover and let stand at room temperature for at least one hour. Do not stir down. Bake according to manufacturer';s indtructions for your waffle maker or until cirsp and browned. Serve with jam, preserves. sugar, honey, syrup, etc.
Makes 4-8 waffles.
