Cold Oven Pound Cake
Great served with a custard sauce.
- 6 Eggs, room temperature
- 1 Cup Butter, room temperature
- 3 Cups Sugar
- 3 Cups Flour
- 1 Cup Heavy Whipping Cream
- 1 tsp. Vanilla
Grease and flour tube pan or Bundt pan and set out eggs and butter to come to room temperature. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well (one minute) after each addition. Sift flour and add to creamed mixture alternately with heavy whipping cream. Mix until fully incorporated then stir in vanilla. Pour into prepared pan and place in cold oven. Turn the oven to 300 degrees and bake for 80-90 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool completely before removing from pan. Serve with custard sauce. Can garnish with strawberries or blueberries when in season.
