Ingredients
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 or 2 eggs
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 c. milk
- 2 c. flour
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 to 1 c. hickory nuts, chopped

Preparation
Step 1
Mix sugar, shortening, and eggs until creamy. Add milk and stir again. Next add flour and baking powder and mix thoroughly. Pour into 2 or 3 (if making layers) 8 or 9 in. greased and floured cake pans. Bake at 375 for 30 to 35 minutes.
