Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 ounces sweet milk chocolate melted
  • 1/2 cup chopped candy cherries
  • 1 Tbsp. poppy seed

Step 1

Line a loaf pan (7 3/8 x 3 5/8 x 2 1/2") with wax paper. Mix and sift flour, powder and salt. Cream butter, add sugar gradually and cream until fluffy. Add beaten egg and vanilla. Add flour mixture gradually and mix. Divide dough into 3 = portions. To one portion add cherries to another, add chocolate and to the last poppy seed. Pack in layers to the bottom of pan (poppy seed-top, chocolate-middle, cherry-bottom). Wrap with wax paper, refrigerate overnight
Divide loaf (the long way) into 3 = parts. Then cut into cookie size(1x1 1/2")
Bake on ungreased cookie sheet @ 350 for 8-10min.
DO NOT let them get brown
